Achieving the integration of friction reduction and wear resistance of moving parts is a complex task in tribology. This paper proposes an ordered microporous nickel-based hard coating structure filled with solid lubricant SnAgCu in surface micro-pits, with a focus on the tribological behavior of this interface from 25 to 400 degrees C. Studies show that the interface structure integrates friction reduction and wear resistance. At 25-400 degrees C, the wear rate and friction coefficient are lowered by >20 % and 35 %, respectively, compared to matrix. SnAgCu in micro-pits forms a lubrication layer on said worn surface. Together, the nickel-based hard coating and lubrication layer offer the matrix excellent anti-friction and wear resistance.
