1. A lubricating composition comprising (i) an oil of lubricating viscosity and (ii) a polyisobutylene-substituted phenol having the formula: where q is from 3 to 10 and comprises the reaction product of a phenol with a polyisobutylene having a number average molecular weight of 300 to 500.2. The lubricating composition of claim 1, wherein q is one or more of 4, 5, 6 7, 8, 9, or 10 or mixtures thereof.3. The lubricating composition of claim 1 or 2, wherein the polyisobutylene has a number average molecular weight of 300 to 400.4. The lubricating composition of any of claims 1 to 3, wherein the polyisobutylene is prepared in the absence of a chain transfer agent.5. The lubricating composition of any of claims 1 to 4, wherein the polyisobutylene has a polydispersity of greater than 1.5.6. The lubricating composition of any of claims 1 to 5, wherein the polyisobutylene-substituted phenol is present in amount from 100 to 1000 ppm.7. The lubricating composition of any of claims 1 to 6, wherein the oil of lubricating viscosity comprises at least one of an API Group I, II, III, IV, and V base oil.8. The lubricating composition of any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein the oil of lubricating viscosity is at least 10 wt. % of the lubricating composition, preferably wherein the oil of lubricating viscosity is at least 30 wt. % of the lubricating composition.9. The lubricating composition of any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the oil of lubricating viscosity is up to 95 wt. % of the lubricating composition.10. The lubricating composition of any one of claims 1 to 9, further comprising at least one of the group consisting of detergents, antioxidants, dispersants, antiwear agents, friction modifiers, corrosion inhibitors, and combinations thereof.11. A method of forming a lubricating composition comprising combining the polyisobutylene-substituted phenol according to any of claims 1-5 with an oil of lubricating viscosity.12. Use of the lubricating composition of any one of claims 1 to 10 for lubricating a mechanical device.
